About me
Troy's background was well established in motion picture production before migrating to association show management with The International Society for Optics & Photonics where he took on the role of managing the technology needs at over a dozen annual events across the globe. Holding city-wide multi-day conferences with upwards of 20,000 attendees complete with daily general sessions, awards programs, and breakouts he quickly grew frustrated with not being able to keep up with the changes in audio, video, lighting, and staging design. In 2010 he expanded his knowledge of live event AV technology by becoming a Certified Technology Specialist with the Audio Visual & Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA). By learning the ins and outs of audio, video, lighting, and staging he was able talk-the-talk and help his association be a more proactive player in the direction of the ultimate attendee experience.
Realizing his love was producing technology-forward events of all sizes and for all organizations he was hired with Video West, a national production company designing events for national associations, corporations and agencies including The White House, The State Department, the McCain Institute, and supporting high-profile events for the PGA, NFL, and NCAA across North America. Now with SEAS Productions, based in San Diego, California, Troy is an active volunteer for numerous live-event industry groups sitting on multiple boards of directors and committees and is dedicated to keeping himself and his company relevant in ever-changing times. His 3-2-1 teaching technique enforces takeaways for those attending his sessions by building on entertaining A-Ha moments and opportunities to share beyond the class. When not presenting or working as the Chief Experience Officer for SEAS Productions, he immerses himself in cooking, traveling, golf, and generally enjoying life with his wife and 10year old twins.
