About me
Steven Michelman believes in using his lived experience with mental health challenges to increase awareness of mental health and suicide prevention. For the past few yeasr, he has focused his efforts on teaching Mental Health First Aid classes for Behind the Scenes. In addition to teaching, Steven speaks publicly and writes about his challenges with anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. Sharing his story supports his vision to create acceptance and eliminate stigma for people experiencing mental health challenges. Steven also has over 30 years of experience in entertainment production and technology and is founder and co-owner of Entertainment Project Services, LLC (EPSsolves.com).
Steven received his BFA in Scenic Design from Ithaca College (1991) and an MFA in Technical Direction from Penn State University (1997). A big part of Steven’s self-care is spending time with his wife Molly, and sons, Sam and Leo.
