About me
Kristi Ross-Clausen is an internationally recognized expert on theater safety. An IATSE stagehand and trainer, she’s worked thousands of events including international tours of Mamma Mia, War Horse and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. She’s presented at numerous conferences, worked with NFHS to create an online theater safety class, and co-chaired Wisconsin K-12 standards in Technical Theatre. She chairs the USITT BACKstage exam, a capstone CTE exam for HS students; and is updating the eSET exams. She teaches technical theater skills to K-12 performing arts teachers through the University of Wisconsin. She’s the Director of Education and Training for ModTruss, a modular building system used in live entertainment and so much more.
