About me
As AREA15’s executive director of sales, Kelly Campbell Smolen leads the highperforming sales team at the art and entertainment district. From strategic planning to
business initiatives and implementing a client-focused approach to sales, she drives and
manages overall sales growth for special events. She’s also propped AREA15 as one of
the most immersive, ground-breaking and turn-key private event venues in Las Vegas as
it continues to expand across 20 acres.
Since joining AREA15, Campbell Smolen has been recognized as a 2023 Vegas Inc “40
Under 40” winner for more than doubling revenues and building a high-performing team.
In 2022, Campbell Smolen also attained the highest revenue generating buyout for
AREA15 with a $1 billion net revenue company recognized as "Fortune’s Best
Workplaces in Tech" and "Fortune's Best Workplaces for Millennials."
She's also attracted some of the biggest brands in entertainment to host special events
at AREA15, including UFC, Cirque du Soleil, Vegas Golden Knights, the Las Vegas
Convention and Visitors Authority and Formula 1. Additional clients from the tech industry
include Amazon, Crowdstrike, Adobe, Databricks, NetApp and Square as well as luxury
brands such as Louis Vuitton and Mercedes.
Prior to joining AREA15, Campbell Smolen served as a vital member of Live Nation’s
special events division based out of House of Blues Las Vegas. During her tenure, she
became the top revenue producing senior sales manager across more than 150 Live
Nation venues in the United States, generating more than $10.5 million in revenue.
Outside of work, Campbell Smolen enjoys giving her time and talent to the local
community. She donates to Three Square Food Bank, participates in the Las Vegas
Hospitality Association’s (LVHA) Fill-A-Bag program, hosts fundraisers for the Wounded
Warrior Project Las Vegas at her family restaurant the Crab Corner, hosts fundraisers for
the International Myeloma Foundation and volunteers for Legends Football League (LFL) where she gives back at various charity events. In addition, she mentors students at the
University of Nevada, Las Vegas’s hospitality program.
She is a proud graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
