About me
Joshua Cruse is an award-winning media producer, musician, and visual storyteller. Since graduating from George Mason University in 2013 with a B.M. in Music Composition and Recording/Music Technology, Josh has worked with numerous non-profits, educational institutions, and commercial entities. Josh has contributed breaking news imagery & editorial media to CNN, NBC, VICE NEWS and the Associated Press, and his footage has been incorporated into productions from National Geographic, Politico, NASA, and various network affiliates and community news publications. He’s received two IFEA Gold Pinnacle awards and multiple Telly Awards, including a Gold Telly Award for his role as an Executive Producer for “A Flame That Lights the Gloom”. He held the role of Producer/Editor, Media Brand at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, where he currently serves as a Multimedia Specialist. Currently, Josh is the Senior Media Producer for George Mason University’s Green Machine Ensembles, which includes the Green Machine Pep Band, the WGI World-Class GMU Indoor Drumline and Winterguard, and other competitive and entertaining ensembles. Along with his team – GMedia – he leads production for numerous multimedia deliverables each year. As an educator, Josh has taught on various topics ranging from pre-production to post-production, such as Intro to Photography, iPhoneography, Video Directing, New Media, and Video Editing 101. In a relaxed but informative manner, he enjoys sharing what he’s learned over the years through anecdotes and practical, step-by-step methodology. He has extensive experience in presenting lectures at the collegiate level, and is available to speak to any audience that wishes to hear the stories behind the stories he tells!
