Spatial Audio: Spacemap Go is a 1-day interactive workshop in developing understanding and knowledge in spatial audio using Spacemap Go, Meyer Sound’s spatial sound design and mixing tool. This training includes guiding principles in spatial audio; Spacemap Go operations and workflow; and spatial sound design and mixing.  
 
This course is for people who want an introduction to spatial audio, have interest in using Meyer Sound’s Spacemap Go tool in live productions or events, and need to know how to design, use, and maintain these systems. 
 
By the end of the training, participants will understand the guiding principles of spatial audio and system design; how to install a spatial audio system; how to apply workflow for installing, connecting, designing, and mixing using Spacemap Go; how to build Spacemaps and trajectories and trigger them with external control using OSC (Open Sound Control) and plug-ins; and they will explore various approaches in mixing spatial audio in a live production environment and installations.

Fabrics and Flames: Essential Guidelines for Fire Code Compliance, Cleaning, and Handling of Stage Drapery

Fire Safety on stages is a real issue- drapes are naturally flammable and, when exposed to hot lights, or electrical sparks, there is an increased risk of fire. Flameproofing on drapes form an important part of a theater's fire safety system.  We review the different types of fabrics and flame retardant treatments available. In addition, we share practical knowledge from the field sharing little-known facts such as flame retardant wears off over time, and even Inherently Flame Retardant fabrics will become flammable with the accumulation of dust. Finally, we review how to make drapery compliant with the fire code without incurring the significant cost of replacement. Stage Draperies require on-going care and maintenance to continue to look good and be safe. Presentation will discuss fabrics used in theatres, show tips on handling and caring for them to preserve their lifespan.

Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training provides the skills to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, or experiencing a crisis, and help connect them to the appropriate care.
Mental Health First Aid takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems by teaching how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen non judgmentally and give reassurance to someone who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.

The course will teach how to apply the MHFA ALGEE Action Plan:
